Grant Corley had been involved in seed cleaning as a young man
cleaning seed after school with his father. His continued interest in the seed
industry led Grant and Gayla Corley to establish the Corley Seed Farms in
1980 as a family seed business. After several years of taking their seed to conditioners they
decided to take a big step and build the present seed cleaning facility
4.5 miles north of Westphalia, Kansas, in 1989. The original equipment included a
Clipper 147B and spirals utilizing the already established grain
facility. The family was
pleasantly surprised as their business grew and it became obvious that
better cleaning and conditioning equipment was needed.
The year 1993 saw the addition of more spirals and a new and larger
cleaner, a Clipper Super 29D.
In 1995 a gravity table was added to improve the conditioned and
quality of the seed. Improvements continue at Corley Seed Farm and the new warehouse was
built in 1994 to store cleaned and conditioned seed. Additional equipment and services
are being added as the need arises. For example Corley now handles #2000
mini bulk bags and is presently working on a new Bulk Seed Facility.
Besides custom cleaning, cleaning and conditioning of their own
seed they also have dealerships for Taylor, AgriPro, Mycogen, and DeLange
Seed.
Corley Seed Farms became associated with Taylor Seed Farms in 1997,
another Family owned Kansas Seed Company. This gave larger Sales base, which
brought us to access newer & better Genetics. Corley Seed Farms currently markets in Kansas, Missouri, NW
Arkansas, Eastern Oklahoma & NE Texas. Their constant growth is
attributed to the fact that they are large enough to access all new
technologies and small enough to treat customers with the respect and
prompt service they deserve.
The research program and customer service is what sets Corley Seed
Farms apart from larger competitors.
The seed business has grown, presently Corley Seed Farms employs
three full time and three part time employees, The tradition of the family
farm continues with the Corley children, Gaylene, Gaylette and Gaylon and
their families sharing an interest in the family business.
Visitors are welcome and Grant will be pleased to
give a tour and discuss the present cleaning facility and assist you in
meeting your seed needs. Corley Seed Farms appreciates the opportunity to
